Join the Starting Line: Registration Opens for the Second Annual McKinney Historic Half Presented by BMW

MCKINNEY, TX (July 31, 2026) – Following a successful inaugural event that welcomed runners, families and spectators from across North Texas, registration for the second annual McKinney Historic Half Presented by BMW will open on August 1, 2026, as the race builds on its momentum and prepares for another community celebration in historic McKinney.

Returning on April 3, 2027, the McKinney Historic Half is more than a race, it is a celebration of community in one of the fastest-growing areas of North Texas. Hosted by TUPPS Brewery and produced by the team behind the BMW Dallas Marathon, the event returns a premier race experience to McKinney with a distinctly local feel, showcasing the city's historic downtown, scenic neighborhoods and expansive park system.

"The enthusiasm from runners, volunteers, community partners and residents confirmed that McKinney is a special place to host an event like this. Race day will once again feature a Half Marathon, 5K and Kids' 100M Dash, welcoming participants of all ages and abilities. From experienced runners chasing a personal best to families looking for a fun community event, the McKinney Historic Half offers an experience for everyone, designed to connect people through movement while highlighting the elements that make McKinney unique.

The event will once again begin and end at TUPPS Brewery, creating a festival atmosphere that extends beyond the finish line. Continuing its commitment to making a meaningful impact beyond race day, proceeds from the event will once again benefit Scottish Rite for Children of Frisco. Following an inaugural race that raised $10,000 to support the hospital's mission, organizers hope to make an even greater impact in the event's second year.
