(McKinney – December 8, 2025) McKinney will make history on March 28, 2026, as the city hosts the inaugural McKinney Historic Half Presented by BMW, a new signature running event that blends fitness, family fun, and hometown pride. More than a race, the event is designed as a celebration of community, history, and healthy living in one of North Texas' fastest-growing cities.
Hosted by TUPPS Brewery, the inaugural race brings the BMW Dallas Marathon's standard of excellence to McKinney while creating a distinctly local experience. Runners will travel a scenic course highlighting McKinney's charming historic downtown, tree-lined neighborhoods, and expansive park system, offering participants a race that is as memorable as it is motivating.
The event will feature a Half Marathon, 5K, and Kids 100M Dash, welcoming runners of all ages and experience levels — from first-time participants to seasoned athletes. In addition to promoting healthy lifestyles, the race gives back to the community, with proceeds benefiting Scottish Rite for Children of Frisco, supporting world-class pediatric orthopedics and sports medicine care for children throughout North Texas.
"Bringing a new race to McKinney is an exciting milestone for our organization," said Jason Schuchard, President of the Dallas White Rock Marathon. "This community has a spirit and character that make it an exceptional host city, and we can't wait for runners to experience it firsthand. Race day will showcase everything that makes McKinney special." Race weekend will also include a festive post-race celebration at TUPPS Brewery, featuring live music, food, local vendors, and activities for spectators and participants alike.
